FAQ

Answers to the questions that come up most.

Do I own the generated code?

Yes. Once exported, the project is a normal codebase with no runtime dependency on Fimaflow — commit it, edit it, deploy it anywhere. See Deployment Overview.

Which frameworks can I export to?

Hono, Express, Fastify, Elysia and FastAPI today — see Framework Export for what each export includes.

Can I connect my own database?

Yes — the Database node supports remote PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB and SQLite connections, alongside a managed local option for prototyping. See Database.

Can my team collaborate on the same project?

Yes — invite collaborators to a workspace as editors or viewers. Every project and workflow inside inherits that access. See Projects & Workspaces.

What happens when I run out of AI credits?

AI node calls stop until your credits reset next billing period, or you upgrade your plan — everything else in your workflow keeps running normally. You can also connect your own provider API key to bypass credits entirely. See AI Nodes.

What if a node doesn't cover what I need?

Drop down to a Code or Function node and write JavaScript or TypeScript directly — it plugs into the rest of the workflow like any other node. See Custom Code.

Can I use AI inside a backend I'm building?

Yes — the AI node calls a language model as a regular workflow step, for chat, classification, extraction, or embeddings. See AI Nodes.

Can I script Fimaflow from the terminal?

Yes — the CLI lets you list, run and export workflows from a terminal or a CI pipeline. An official SDK for use inside your own application code isn't published yet.
